Miami vacation – part 1

D and I recently escaped to Miami for a long overdue vacation. Usually when we decide to take a vacation, I go into obsessive itinerary planning mode. However this time it was different – there was no research and no planning. We took time to explore the city and spent hours on the beach. We booked our four day stay at the Eden Roc resort in Miami Beach. Just look at this view I woke up to every morning.

This is hurricane season in Miami but it only rained on one of the days for a few hours. I used that time to get a relaxing massage and a fantastic facial at the Spa at Eden Roc. If any of you visit Miami during spa month, I highly recommend this one. The ambiance is relaxing and you get to wait in their luxurious lounge between appointments near a fireplace with relaxing views of the ocean. They even gave me a blanket to curl up in.

We took long walks on the beach, build sandcastles and splashed around in the ocean. Eden Roc has an awesome bar right on the beach where we went almost every night. We slept in and didn’t get ready till after lunch, which is why all my outfit pictures were clicked at night. I apologize for the poor lighting.

The famous LIV nightclub is also located next door at the swanky Fontainbleau hotel and you can wait in their lobby bar sipping cocktails and take in the Ai Wei Wei chandeliers. They also have a bakery called Chez Bon Bon where we had the most amazing little treats. You cannot resist the key lime cheesecake, especially when its shaped like a flip flop. I wore a red lace dress and recycled all my accessories.

We took a road trip to the keys and explored the gorgeous Perez Art Museum in Miami. More posts about our time in Miami coming soon…
